Colleagues are customers too
HR, IT, finance — teams whose customers are colleagues get the same calm inbox, without buying a second tool.
The problem
Colleagues' requests vanish into personal inboxes
Staff email whoever they know in HR, IT or finance, so requests land in individual inboxes with no owner and no record. The same question is answered afresh every month. Sensitive matters get forwarded more widely than they should.
How it works
How internal service teams works in MimiDesk.
- 1
Give each function a desk
HR, IT and finance each work a shared inbox, and roles decide who can open which one.
- 2
Keep sensitive requests narrow
A personal matter can stay in a mailbox only its owner sees, or be discussed in a private side conversation instead of a forward.
- 3
Answer once, reuse often
Write the answer to a recurring question into internal knowledge, and the team finds it the next time it comes up.
- 4
Show the team's load
Workload and resolution reports show how many requests each function handles and how long they take, without exposing what anyone wrote.
Requests with owners
A request is a conversation with a name on it and a response goal, not a queue of dread.
Private by default
Private matters most when the customers are colleagues. Access follows roles, personal mailboxes are visible only to their owner, and the audit log records activity across the workspace.
One workspace, inside and out
The same desk that serves customers serves the company — one place to search, one set of reports.
Questions
MimiDesk for internal service teams: common questions.
Can we use MimiDesk as an internal help desk?
Yes. A colleague's request is handled like a customer's: a conversation with an owner, a response target and internal comments. Internal and external inboxes can run in the same workspace.
How do we keep HR conversations confidential?
Access follows roles, including custom roles, and personal mailboxes are visible only to their owner. The audit log records activity across the workspace, and erasure comes with a receipt when a record must go.
Can staff look up answers themselves?
Internal knowledge is available to people in the workspace today. A self-service help centre is on the way, not yet shipped.
Can we provision users from our directory?
Yes. SCIM is supported for provisioning, and single sign-on is available on request.
